Worth a Try
Positive: Friendly Staff, All very helpful and answered all our enquiries. Handy for shops pubs and only a short walk to the clock tower, Would have given 100% except for couple of things below
Having said that, price and room I would definitely stay again.
Negative: Lumpy Beds, and marks on the curtains.

Cheap, but not cheerful
Positive: The fella on reception, when he was there, was very helpful. Though it seemed he was the only member of staff. I never saw anyone else. Which would explain quite a few things, such as the poor state of the place.
Negative: It's bloody filthy. The first room we were offered had blood stains, and other dubious stains, on the mattress. The springs were on the verge of coming through. The sheets were equally filthy. It's impossible for anyone not to notice the filth. The general cleanliness was shocking. You can tell it's not 2021 anymore this place would have been closed down.
With a great deal of investment in time and money this could be a nice hotel. Hopefully the owners make these investments. Otherwise it won't be around long.
The second room was a slight improvement... And I do mean slight.
No blood stains, but others were present. The fella from reception helped with turning the mattress over and it was stain free on that side and the mattress didn't stink... Yay!
We spent two nights at this place, but would have left after day one if it wasn't necessary for us to be in skeggy 2 days.
I will definitely not be returning to this hotel any time soon and will only ever return if reviews show that the owners have put the required effort in to improve the place.
My advice to the owners is get more staff, especially cleaners. Throw out ALL existing bedding and replace it all. From the beds to the linen. Get mattress protectors.
Get thicker curtains for the windows, I had to wrap a towel round my head so that it was dark enough for me to sleep.
Keep the telly's. They're a good size and have streaming capability (or the 2 I saw did)
Get new furniture also, but beds and curtains would be my priority.
The location is pretty good and has adequate parking (get rid of the skip and there'd be even more 👍)
The shower was unusable also. And disgustingly filthy.
The rooms are a good size and having ensuite was a bonus.
Gut the place and invest and it could be great.
Currently it's a continent away from even being fair.

Positive: All of it
Negative: Noisy guest late at night squealing and running up and down the corridor.
